2nd Presbyterian Church Early Records in Mocksville, North Carolina
In February 2018, Marie Craig copied the pages of an old booklet that were notes made by a minister of the Second Presbyterian Church in Mocksville, North Carolina. This church is located at 400 Pine Street. Through the years, this has been the church home for African American persons living in Mocksville. The book was very fragile because of age, and great care was taken to handle it carefully.

The booklet contains 46 marriage records from 1899 - 1919, listing date, location, groom, bride, their parents, and how much the minister was paid. Vital Records were not required in North Carolina until 1913, so it is the hope of this Webmaster that researchers can find information not listed anywhere else.
