DIFMAP

Before installing DIFMAP, you will need the following libraries:

pgplot, fort77, libx11-dev, Libncurses-dev, gawk, cvs, gfortran, make

Using

sudo apt-get install pgplot5 fort77 libx11-dev libncurses-dev gawk cvs gfortran make

To obtain DIFMAP, download the tar file below.

Move the tar.gz file to the folder you would like your DIFMAP to be installed and then unpack it

tar -xvf difmap2.5o.tar.gz

Enter the generated uvf_difmap folder before running the configure script. The linux-486-gcc differs for different OS. Check yours using uname -m

cd uvf_difmap

./configure linux-i486-gcc

./makeall

Finally, add aips and difmap to LOGIN.SH to run it in any active directory. Notice that the /home/mvlbi is your own home directory

cd ~/

export aips=/home/mvlbi/aips

source /home/mvlbi/aips/LOGIN.SH

PATH=$PATH:/home/mvlbi/uvf_difmap_2.5o/

export PATH
