I stepped out of the meeting room and moved away a bit, then called my uncle. He would probably ask how the meeting went.
"Hello uncle."
"Did you enter our future territory?"
"Hello to you too uncle, how are you? How's the weather there?"
"Angel!"
After this shout, I had to move the phone away from my ear a bit. I kept the phone away from myself for a while and waited for my uncle's insults to end. About five minutes later, I felt his relief with the silence that formed in the environment and put the phone back to my ear.
"Uncle, is it over?"
"It's over nephew."
"Good."
I wet my lips. "In that case, I can go over the situation with a brief summary. Variant and I got up early in the morning and came to the company. The company is a blue, big, ordinary skyscraper. There's no security in front of the entrance door, but inside there's a body search device and an eight-person security group. They seem to be of all ages. All male."
"Good, so what did you talk about?"
"It wasn't much different from a fake welcome ceremony. I just said that we now took over the supply of all their company's materials."
My uncle remained silent for a while and then started talking. "Making them dependent on you and proving your superiority..."
"Plus the damage to the trust bond that Araf has established with his other partners."
"Angel, you shouldn't make it so obvious that you're my nephew," said my uncle, his pleasure was reflected in his tone of voice.
"Someone had to carry your reputation around here while you were away uncle," I said, playing a bit to the stands.
Just as my uncle was about to say something, Eyşan, who was dealing with something a bit far away, caught my eye. Just in case, it would be good to end the conversation with my uncle immediately.
"Uncle, take care of yourself, I should hang up now, we shouldn't keep our partners waiting too much from the first day."
My uncle must have gotten the message, he didn't examine or prolong the subject. I pulled myself together. As I approached the meeting room again, the door of the room opened and Variant came out first. Right after him came Araf and Boş.
While Variant immediately took his place next to me, Araf extended his hand and started talking.
"We were really pleased to meet you and collaborate with you. We want to invite you to our new restaurant to celebrate this."
"Okay, are we going to do the opening together?"
"No, you just need to come to the restaurant around eight in the evening. We can even pick you up from your house if you want," he said in a confident, authoritative tone. This tone didn't please me.
"Ah sir, thank you for this kind offer, but we can come to the restaurant ourselves. You just need to tell us the address."
Just as Araf was about to open his mouth, I cut him off. "Actually, you don't even need to tell us the address, we'll find it. Good day, see you at the restaurant." I let go of Araf's hand and quickly shook Boş's hand and said goodbye. Variant did the same and we walked to the exit together. We had nothing else to do for the first day other than this meeting.
When Variant and I left the company and approached our cars, I grabbed his arm. "What do you think about Boş's name story? You didn't seem very satisfied from your expressions when he was telling his story."
After my words, Variant nodded and confirmed what I said. He pulled his arm away from my hand and leaned against my car, explaining what he thought about the subject. "Looking at his expressions when telling his story, there's no sign of lying. I sensed more resentment, sadness and uncertainty along with a bit of anger. His story is probably deeper than what he told us."
"So how do you relate his name to his life relationship?"
"Same as my first thought when I heard his name. I can interpret it as having no qualities in life and never will have any. Just like... the number 1 in multiplication, an ineffective element."
"I couldn't understand how he could be an ineffective element when his life story is so deep, Vari."
Variant looked into my eyes. "Maybe his life is so deep because he is the ineffective element of his own life," he said.
He straightened up, turned his eyes away from mine and left where he was leaning and headed to his car.
After Variant's words, I didn't move immediately, I waited a bit and tried to digest his words. I had also seen the emotions that Variant mentioned in Boş's eyes, but I hadn't thought that these might belong to himself rather than his mother, father or environment.
Our problem was with Araf and his family. Since there was no blood relation between him and Boş, there was no need for him to die in the end, but if something happened and he got caught in between, it would be good if I was careful not to finish his job without learning the truth of this story.
A minute or two later, I had started moving and proceeded to my car. I looked at the time, it was 13:00. Since I didn't want to go home at this hour, I sent a message to Variant stating that I was going to the cage. I always had spare clothes in my car and these were mostly sportswear.
I drove my car towards our gym that was unknown to belong to us. When my uncle was in Turkey, he had a special gym built for us so that we wouldn't be deprived of this kind of self-defense training. It wasn't open until we came to Turkey. In a few days, it would become operational just like normal gyms so that no one would suspect the building.
The gym had three floors. At the bottom was the cage, on the middle floor were normal gym equipment. On the top floor there were special targets for shooting, but other people's use would be limited to the lower and middle floors. There were two reasons for this. The first was to be able to go to the top floor and protect ourselves with weapons in case of possible danger, while the second was to prevent weapons from falling into the hands of random people.
A few hours later my work was done, I had taken my shower. When I looked at the time, it was 17:00. If I went home from here and got ready, I would barely make it.
I drove home at full speed. When I arrived home, Variant's car was nowhere around. I guess he was also continuing a training he wanted during this extra time period. I parked my car randomly somewhere in the garden and got out.
Instead of entering the house immediately, I decided that taking a tour around the house wouldn't harm anyone and took a tour in the garden. The house was in a forested area so that we could easily lose our tracks in case of possible danger.
There were 8 guards both in front and behind the house, 16 guards in total. Besides the guards, there was also a gardener in the garden.
My uncle was not only a company owner but also a pretty good doctor in his field. He was also quite knowledgeable and interested in plants as much as in medicine. He had equipped the house's garden with various plants that create poison and antidote effects both for us to use in this game and in case of an emergency. The gardener was dealing with the care of these plants. We had also taken plant family training with Variant so that we could use them when necessary.
After finishing my tour work in the garden, I walked to the house door for both the opening and celebration dinner. Not much, a few minutes later I was getting ready for the evening meal in my room. I had put my hair in a bun and wore a red dress that was open on the back down to the waist and a little above my knees. After I finished my makeup, I sent a message asking Variant to indicate where he was too.
While I was putting on my earrings, my gaze shifted to my phone with the notification sound from my phone. Variant had replied to my message without delay. "I'm examining files belonging to Araf's company history. If you're ready, I'll come home, we'll go to the restaurant together from there because it might seem strange for both of us to leave together and arrive at different times, especially for the first meal."
"You're right, I'm ready, there's not much time left, come quickly."
"As you command my angel."
I smiled at the last message Variant sent and put the phone I had taken in my hand back on the table. Most of the time when we were alone, he would call me my angel. Although I never asked the reason for this, I attributed it to the importance he gave to the relationship between names' meaning and life.
As I was putting on my last earring too, my hand remained motionless over my ear for a while with what came to my mind.
We had left the company together with Variant and I hadn't seen anything like a file in his hand when we were leaving. So how was he examining a file about Araf's company history...
We had read together the research my uncle did on Araf's company. Could it be one of those? No, this couldn't be. Those files had stayed with my uncle in America. Then could my uncle have found something new about the company? If so, if he found something new, why did he give it to Variant first instead of me? While all the authority regarding the company belonged to me..
