Unit Materials and Resources Needs

Technology:

Ideally students have one to one technology access in the classroom during the project. The unit can also be conducted with planned trips to a computer lab.

Math supplies:

• Rulers, straight edges. Protractors and compasses are optional
• Calculators are optional
• Paper: letter size for most drawings; (11x17) for the floor plan drawing
• Posters
• Project folder: each student will be assigned a project folder
• Student computers

Teacher supplies:

• Computer
• Digital visual document camera/projector

Math Book:

The lessons provided use Dimensions Math 7B (Singapore math program) for guided instruction, independent practice, and homework. The lesson plan references to the 2013 edition of the book (ISBN 978-981-4431-73-6). The Singapore math curriculum can easily be replaced with other curricula or teacher created problems.
