The sessions are designed for 20-minute presentations, followed by a 5 min exchange between the speaker and the discussant, concluded with 5 minutes for questions from the audience.
There is little time between speakers so everyone should keep to time.
Sessions are NOT recorded.
If you prefer, please send your presentation to bioecon@bioecon-network.org so we can upload your presentation.
Please arrive at the parallel session room 10 minutes early and ensure your presentation has been uploaded onto the computer in your session (in either ppt or pdf format). If you have not sent your presentation to us beforehand, please bring it on a USB stick and copy it on the session computer. There will be conference volunteers in each room to assist you with any IT matters.
Most paper presenters also serve as discussants for another paper in their session. As a discussant, you should have received an email with a link to access the paper you are assigned to discuss. If you encounter any difficulties accessing the paper, please contact us at bioecon@bioecon-network.org.
Please aim to make 1-2 carefully selected and targeted comments/questions and keep your intervention to 3 min so that you allow the speaker time to respond.
Please refrain from summarising the paper and please avoid using a presentation of your own as we wish to keep the discussion flowing.
If you are unable to discuss the assigned paper, please inform the organisers as soon as possible.
Please check that speakers have their slides loaded. Please suggest to discussants that they avoid using presentations. If there are any IT difficulties during the session please contact the Conference Registration desk or talk to one of conference volunteers that will be in the session rooms.
Please ensure that speakers keep to time – there will be “5 mins to go” and “1 min to go” signs;
Please ensure that discussants stay within is allocated 5 minutes to keep the session flowing and allow questions from the audience.
Please chair the brief Q+A session with the audience and stay within time. There will be scope for follow up at the coffee/lunch/dinner sessions.
If you are unable to chair the session please inform the organisers as soon as possible.
Please save your questions for the end of each talk
