The UNSC Marine Corps is structured by ranks with different objectives and responsibilities over the other. The chain of command is a system of organization that helps ranks understand who and what people and ranks to report to. The chain of command is the system that shows who is incharge of who and enforces responsibility, accountability, and stability.

Being battalion commanders the Lieutenant Colonels typically are the decision makers of a(n) operation and are the main leaders of a unit.
Colonel (Col) - O6
Regimental Commanders, brigade executives, or simply a divisional staff member. The colonel is usually apart of the high command of their respected unit.
Brigadier General (BGen) - O7
A one-star general, hand-picked by the CMC or Fleet Admiral and overlook the UNSC Marine Corps as a whole. They typically lead Infantry divisions or Aerial wing

A two-star general, hand-picked by the CMC or Fleet Admiral and overlook the UNSC Marine Corps as a whole. They typically lead Infantry divisions or Aerial wing
