The oras attach command creates a reference between the file (./signature.json) to the $IMAGE. The --artifact-type provides for differentiating artifacts, similar to file extensions that enable different file types. One or more files can be attached by specifying [file]:[mediaType].

Artifacts that are pushed as references, typically don't have tags as they're considered part of the subject artifact. To push a signature to an artifact that is a child of another artifact, use the oras discover with --artifact-type filtering to find the digest.

Support for the OCI v1.1 Specification enables deleting the graph of artifacts associated with the root artifact. Use the oras delete command to delete the graph of artifacts (signature, SBOM and the signature of the SBOM).

An important part of package management is being able to query the packages and their versions. For example, I can list the available repositories using oras repo ls ghcr.io/kenmuse (which would return awesome-tool). I can also list all of the versions (tags) for that artifact using oras repo tags ghcr.io/kenmuse/awesome-tool.

To see the complete tree of attachments with a given item and the relationships, you can use: oras discover ghcr.io/kenmuse/awesome-tool:1.0 -o tree. To find a specific artifact type, use oras discover --artifact-type application/vnd.kenmuse.handbook.config.v1 ghcr.io/kenmuse/awesome-tool:1.0. e24fc04721
