 Above each description is a class or clinic name in orange (a fun name for the kids) followed by a more professional name and description of what the clinic is designed to accomplish and to better understand the intentions of each clinic or class.

 (PUP) PICK UP THE PACE

PRO NAME & DESCRIPTION: Speed and Reaction Time - Speed and reaction time is a high priority for athletes of any level. An increase in both of these not only increases performance outcomes but also has mental benefits for any youth as it increases confidence. This clinic will focus on Improving the mechanics of stance, start, and running form as well as challenging youth’s reaction time while enhancing the efficiency of movement. 

 (P&Y) PARENT & YOUTH PARTNER TRAINING

PRO NAME & DESCRIPTION: Mental Toughness & Pushing To YOUR Limit - Support and encourage your child as you workout side by side. Each workout will be designed with exercises and drills that will encourage youth to explore how to push to their own limits. Parents' objective is to lead by example, complete the workout with your child, provide affirmation to teach our youth that consistency plays a large factor in success.

Youth do not need a parent to participate. We can pair kids up with each other or put them into groups with other families. 

 (JUMP) JUMP CLINIC

PRO NAME & DESCRIPTION: Jump Power & Technique - Jumping isn’t about the highest vertical jump or tallest box jumped. The ability to produce power and speed through jumping needs to be done effectively and efficiently by learning proper form and technique. Youth will learn how to adapt and control their body in space to maximize power performance.

(BB) BOSU BOUNCE

PRO NAME & DESCRIPTION: Neuromotor & Coordination Training - Neuromotor training refines the connection between the brain and the body to improve mechanical movement. Utilizing the BOSU Balance Trainer this clinic will have an emphasis on balance, coordination, gait, and proprioceptive training. 

 (AS) ARM STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

PRO NAME & DESCRIPTION: Training For The Overhead Athlete - Whether it’s baseball, softball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, basketball, gymnastics or other sports that require overhead or throwing motion this clinic is designed to improve strength and mobility in the shoulders and to teach how speed and velocity comes from a total body contribution (not just the shoulders) to increase efficiency and reduce injury.

 (SUS) STRAIGHT UP STRENGTH

PRO NAME & DESCRIPTION: Youth Strength Training - Weight training helps to develop & increase not only strength but explosive power to take youth to a new level of performance. While focusing on each youth’s individual primary performance muscle group we will be using a variety of equipment from dumbbells, body bars, TRX, weighted balls, and more. Emphasis will be put on learning proper lifting form.

(OT) OVERTIME

PRO NAME AND DESCRIPTION: Skill Enhancement - These sessions will focus on enhancing and reviewing the skills learned the previous week or in the current week’s clinics. A great opportunity to fine-tune skills or to review skills that may have been missed in a clinic a youth was unable to attend. 

YOGA

PRO NAME & DESCRIPTION: Flexibility, Mobility & Core - Studies have shown that an increase in flexibility, mobility, and strengthening core muscles can help to prevent injuries. Through yoga poses and traditional stretching youth will benefit from this class both physically as they lengthen muscles and gain an increase in range of motion and mentally as they learn relaxation techniques. Core strengthening will also be incorporated to balance out this clinic.

(AC) ABsolutely Core

PRO NAME AND DESCRIPTION: Core Strengthening and Stabilization - Strengthening your core muscles has many key benefits for anyone at any age and encompasses more than just your abdominal muscles. Core muscles are largely responsible for stabilizing you during any movement, quick or slow. As these muscles are strengthened it will allow you to move more effectively on a daily basis, during sports activities, and decrease risk of injury.

(FF) FRIEND FRENZY RUN

PRO NAME & DESCRIPTION: Running & Endurance Program - The purpose of this program is to build up cardiovascular endurance + muscular endurance. The training for this camp is to achieve cardiovascular endurance to run 2-3 miles continuously as well as be able to improve muscular endurance. At the conclusion of this camp, youth will partake in a friendly competition with 1-2 friends to complete a run outside followed by bodyweight exercises. Families are encouraged to come and cheer on their child(ren)!

The Friend Frenzy Run will be held August 18 at 4-5 pm.

(BC) BASE CAMP 

The summer months are perfect for utilizing the outdoors to develop a stronger cardiovascular base, agility, coordination, as well as strength. We will be exercising during this class but will be adding in our special summer fun with games and competitions throughout the summer! The famous and loved Watermelon Runs, Lemonade Dash, Bubblegum Balance Challenge, relay races and more will be taking place during this class. 

LAST WEEK OF SUMMER

The last week of summer we will end with our “FRIEND FRENZY RUN” Event. There is no extra cost for this, registration is included in the summer fees. 

OPEN TRAINING TIME 

The gym will be open from 11 am to 12:30 pm Monday through Thursday for strength and agility training.  Exercises will be provided based on individual needs along with a progressive program.  During these times the gym will be staffed with a Certified Personal Trainer to supervise and coach.

If youth are attending only open training on a certain day, they should plan to train for 1 hour. If youth attended a class prior to open training time, they should plan to stay and train for 20-30 minutes.
