A towel:
First of all, remember to bring your own towel!
Appropriate clothing and luggage:
Since the only options to reach the hut are via the open ski lift or by hiking, and since it can get cold and windy on the mountain, we recommend you wear appropriate clothes.
Furthermore, it is very impractical to bring anything but a backpack to Szklarska Poręba, whether you are hiking or taking the ski lift.
(Though people managed in the past with rolling suitcases and high heels, or also without hats and gloves – we just wouldn’t recommend it.)
Money:
The hut accepts payments by cash or credit/debit cards, but payments by cards are preferred. Both złoty (PLN) and Euro are accepted at the hut, but to be on the safe side, you should not assume the usual exchange rate. There is no ATM at the hut itself so we recommend that you bring some cash with you.
There is an ATM in the village next to the ski lift but there will be limited time to buy a ski pass and catch the ski lift if you come by shuttle bus. You can reach the ATM in Szklarska Poręba on Saturday during the sporting break.
If you do not wish to go into the village and/or cannot/dont want to pay by card, we recommend you bring enough cash to last you the weekend.
In previous years the shuttle buses made a stop after the German-Polish border and it is also possible to withdraw złoty there.
