David Isoniel Del Valle Ortiz:
I am currently a member of the 2223V robotics team. This is the first robotics team I'm a member of. In addition, I participate in different activities of my church throughout the year, something that I like a lot. I decided to join the robotics team because It came to my attention especially the robot construction process. In the future I would like to be an orthopedic, therefore I believe robotics could help me a lot in college. I have been in this team for 3 years and the experience I have acquired is irreplaceable.
We always support ourselves, work as a team and always try to do our best. The truth is that the 2223V robotics team was not what I expected, it is much better. We always support ourselves as brothers and seek the best for everyone. Not only in the V team but all of the school's robotics teams, when we need pieces they lend us and vice versa. We are a family.
Valentina Aimeé Avilés Paizy: My name is Valentina A. Avilés Paizy. I am a UHS student, High School, University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. I graduated from sixth grade of the Colegio Creativo de Puerto Rico. I come from the town of Coamo, Puerto Rico, and live in the town of Aguas Buenas. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my family and doing things with or for my animals. I consider myself a responsible, adventurous, affectionate, kind, studious, creative, animal lover, which takes risks if necessary and a bit rebellious, but I can also be tough and stand up for myself and my friends when necessary.
I do not like to leave things for the last minute, if they give me a task I do my best to finish it that same day. I want to work on something related to animals, therefore my goals are; to become a Veterinarian, make an animal shelter with everything (pet store, hospital, grooming, training, adoption, day care and stuff like that) I have a lot of pets (dogs, parrots, chickens, a bunny, other birds, a horse) which apply as more responsibilities, but even so i’m able to keep up with school and the 3 clubs i’m on (robotic, computer and library club) and i’m even starting to work on my blog. Since I learned of the robotics club I knew I wanted to be in it. It was the first club that caught my attention. After that I decided to put myself in the rest (library club: I saw the list to register and as I spent most of the time in the library I decided to write me down. Computer: I found out when I started 8th and thought it might be useful for the club Of robotics).
Robotics is the future. Example: electronic equipment, means of transport, ways of helping people, "prosthetics." Because I'm interested in animals, my parents keep telling me how, with robotics, I can find new ways to help Animals and pets of all kinds (as with prosthetics). Until now I love robotics. And yes, our group is constantly arguing, but hey… anyway we enjoy it. I like everything we do in the club: programming, building, website, electronic game, teamwork, troubleshooting, motor skills, even the skills. I know that I will continue to use these skills in most of the things I do.
Ivo Gabriel Cruz Vázquez: My Name is Ivo Gabriel Cruz Vázquez and I was born in Cambridge Massachusetts in the United States. I'm son of Nelson Cruz and Karla Vázquez. I joined this team wanting to expand my creativity and to overall look at the world from another perspective. I was always interested in computers and technology and this takes it to another level. While being a member of 2223V I can reinforce the value of friendship with allies and foes. I always dreamed of becoming a programmer but never thought of making robots do special tasks. In my elementary school I did not participate in any extracurricular activities. When I hear 2223 I think of teams with big goals but when I hear 2223V I think of something extraordinary.
Claudia Valeria Pillot Meléndez: I’m Claudia Valeria Pillot Melendez, an aspiring engineer, musician and athlete. I joined this team knowing that I would be able to excel not only as a human being but as an engineer. I would be able to expand my knowledge in robotics which also opens a door to my knowledge as an aspiring engineer, I say this because at first you learn things that might seem of little importance but may change the structure of the idea in big ways such as structure reinforcement. What I learned about structure reinforcement was that when you have a perfect square structure and you pull or push it to one side the other 4 sides will accompany this movement making the structure easily destructible, therefore when you but a triangle in that square you won’t be able to pull it because the triangle won’t give in to the pulling. This structure reinforcement is what they use for bridges etc.
My experience in the Robotics team was always amazing, sure I did have some down times but that hasn’t stopped me from being where I am now, a proud member of the teams 2223 and a proud team member of team 2223V. In my last school, the EEUPR y was part of a club in which they showed us basic robot design or programing sensors and so on. This club is where my love for robotics and my love for engineering grew. My first ever contact with any time of robot was a robot that was named WALUPRA. It was a Lego based robot that let you program the movement by adding a different kind of sensor for example if I wanted WALUPRA to move forward towards the wall when I said 3 I had to program a sound sensor and so on. Through this club, I discovered the aviation club which lead me towards being a mechanic.
The last thing I’ve done before being here is graduate I graduated from EEUPR as a high honor student and a very vast knowledge of mechanics and robotics, and learned a bit of Vex IQ on the way. To round up everything id have to say that I’ve had an amazing experience in robotics and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
