FOUR MINDS ARE BETTER THAN ONE

Esteban A. Cintrón Rodríguez:

My name is Esteban Andrés Cintrón Rodríguez. I'm the son of Ernesto Cintrón and Jessica Rodríguez. I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and I still live here . I studied in El Colegio San Antonio until I graduated from that school in sixth grade. Since seventh grade I have studied in the UHS. At this moment the only student organization I'm member of is the school's robotics club.

I wanted to be part of a robotics club after taking a robotics summer camp from PRIOR, which I really enjoyed. I really love robotics, even if it isn't really what I expected. I thought it was less work. But I'm not complaining since I still enjoy working with the robot and my teammates.

Joseph S. Nocua Tole

Hello there, (people who might be reading this) my name is Joseph Schneider Nocua Tole and I will be telling you a little something about me. I live in San Juan (capital city of Puerto Rico),and I live with my dad Jose Nocua, my mom Lucero Tole and my little brother Andres Felipe. Although I live in San Juan I was born in Mayaguez Puerto Rico in June the 14th of 2002. I started out my academic live studying in a head start when I was about 3 years old. After that I entered “El Colegio La Milagrosa”, this one got closed up because of different reasons. Then I moved to a different school called ‘’El Colegio Sagrado Corazón De Jesús”. After that I passed the test required to get accepted in U.H.S., then I started out in this school when I was 12.

I only participate in two activities outside school , these are robotics and a group from my church. I'm currently a member of 2223 R, this team was created when I was in 7th grade, this team actually is composed of me, Esteban Cintrón, Adriana Rivera and Diego Pomales. This was my first robotics experience. Some people have asked me why I entered the team, to that I just have one answer why not.

Now that I think about it I had no previous experience in robotics, only a few classes in Lego"mindstorm". So far I’ve felt pretty comfortable in this team, I have great expectations on what being in this team could mean in the future. When I just started it was hard because I didn’t know what I wanted to do in the team but then I found out who much I liked programming. I only have to conclude that being in robotics is an experience I definitely won’t regret.

Diego A. Pomales Matos

Hi! My name is Diego Andrés Pomales Matos, but people usually call me by my last name, Pomales. My parents are Marinnette Matos and José Pomales. I was born in 2002 in the Hospitalo Auxilio Mutuo, San Juan, Puerto Rico and iv'e been living here ever since. I started my academic life when I was three years old at Casa Montessori del Nino, and after I graduated from there in sixth grade I entered University High School (U.H.S. for short). i entered this school after passing an exam and being accepted.

I'm a socially active person and this is why I belong to more than one social groups or organizations at school. I'm a member of the student council (C.E.U.H.S.) representing my class (2020). Also, I'm part of the History League and annually we participate from national competitions. I would like to mention that I also am a volleyball player and a member of the Junior Vasity Team. Finally, I'm a member of the school's robotics team, where I am participating with Adriana Rivera, Esteban Cintrón and Joseph Nocua. I've only been part of the robotics team since seventh grade, but before that I hadn't had experience and I'm grateful that currently I do.

I decided to become a member of the robotics team because I was starting to develop an interest and curiosity for it, I was fascinated by it. I watched TV shows and read magazine articles to know more and more about robotics and when I changed from school I finally got the opportunity to at least try it and I really liked it. I simply loved the idea of creating a mechanism and being able to make it work. For now, I've had a great experience being part of this team and I wouldn't change it for anything. At first it was a bit hard adapting with the environment, but I'm finally adapted to it. Unlike other people would say, I honestly expected less than what it actually takes to be part of a robotics team, not only making a machine work.

Adriana P. Rivera Sánchez:

My name is Adriana Paola Rivera Sánchez. am the daughter of Luis M. Rivera and Yvette Sanchez. I was born in Pavia Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In elementary school I went to The School of San Juan, but I currently study in University High School (U.H.S.) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I currently live in San Juan, Puerto Rico with my parents and my two brothers.

Outside of school I only participate in one extracurricular activity. This is robotics. I started in robotics in the fifth grade in The School of San Juan with Vex IQ. At that level my team and I built robots out of legos. Then whyen I left school, I continuedf robotics in the UHS. But it wasn't until this year that I decided to be part of a team.

Scince I was a little kid I wanted to study engineering, so I wated to continue robotics in the UHS. In the time I've been in the group, my experience has been amazing. At the begining, it was hard since I'm the only girl in the team, it was a bith difficult to adjust at first but now I'm very comfortable with the guys. Being in robotics is a great thing.
