If not already done so, you will need to set up your own "personal" email address first (you cannot use your a parent/guardian's email or anyone else's email).
Next, you will need to have the names and email addresses for five (5) character references for yourself before starting this registration process (unless your reference checks have already been done for an earlier registration in which case you do not need to repeat the reference check again). The references cannot be family members and two of them need to have known you for five years or more. An automated reference check email will be sent to each of your references. This email will request just a few questions to be answered. Note that members under 18 years old who are just taking the training do not need references at this time (MedVents <18 or other members <18).
If you are "currently 18 or older", and you have not had a "police record check" done for Scouts Canada, you will need to have one done. When you have completed the online registration process, you will need to go down to your local police station and take with you a copy of this Police Record Check letter (DOWNLOAD LETTER HERE) with you as well as two pieces of photo ID. When you receive your police record check back from the local police station, send a copy to your Section Head. If you are 17 or younger, you will need to have a police record check done when you turn 18 years old.
