About Our Project

We are Girl Scout Troop 21000, and this is our Bronze Award!

Our project started at Arbor Park. While working there to earn our Girl Scout Junior Leadership Award, we noticed the park needed a trash can and a pet waste station. We helped get those installed and also worked on a park beautification project which included spending $3600 of our troop cookie funds!

While we were at the park, we saw how many people bring their dogs. That made us think about pets in our community who need help—especially animals in shelters.

That’s how we got the idea for our Bronze Award project! We decided to help collect pet supplies for PAWS Atlanta.

Here’s what we did October 2025 through April 2026:

• Held planning meetings

• Researched and created an Amazon WishList based on PAWS Atlanta's current needs

• Made donation boxes

• Created flyers and a website

• Asked local businesses to host donation boxes

• Made cat scratchers and dog toys using recycled materials

• Collected donations for shelter pets

• Delivered donations to PAWS Atlanta

On July 1, 2026, we also added a QR code to the Arbor Park pet waste station. When people scan it, they can donate items directly to PAWS Atlanta anytime and keep our project continuing!
