C20th at the Kerygma Centre, Great Yarmouth, in 1980.  This was the final gig of this line-up:  Tony Simons (Gibson Les Paul),  Mark "Merc" Hammond (Fender Precision Bass), Simon Matthews (Premier Drum Kit), Mark "Murk" Allchorn (lead vocals), hiding Dermot Boyle (Les Paul Copy) and Graham Gill (Jen synthesizer and keyboards).

Flashbacks from the 1950s-1970s

The following historical pictures give a flavour of earlier generations of the 20th Century group, from the light music to the folk-rock eras of the society.  In particular, these illustrate some of the early line-ups that performed A Folk Passion.  Some pictures kindly supplied and digitized by Steve Furber and David Woodward.

20th Century on the Road, 1977-78

The following pictures are taken from the 1977-78 season tour, which took in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.  Most of these are shots of the group members and their instruments.  Pictures taken by Dave Hobson and digitized by Tony Simons.

25th Anniversary Rehearsal, Sheffield, 2004

The following pictures are taken from the rehearsal, held in Fulwood, Sheffield, for the 25th Anniversary Gig, on 27 November 2004. This was the first time that so many of the band had got together since the late 1970s!  Digital pictures kindly supplied by Michael Stone.

The following pictures are taken from the live performance of 20th Century during the 25th Anniversary Gig, held on 27th November 2004.  Nearly all the original band members from the 1979-80 prog/new wave line-up were there, except Dermot Boyle (guitar) and Mark Hammond (bass), whose place was taken by Dave Hobson from the earlier 1978-79 line-up.  Digital pictures kindly supplied by Michael Stone.

The 20th Century Family Reunion, 2004.

The following pictures are taken from the off-stage moments and family get-together at the 25th Anniversary reunion.
