Have you ever found yourself spending most of your work day idle? Ever finish your day's work before your coffee gets cold?
Welcome to our page! Our goal is to determine the efficiency of the 40 hour work week structure in American culture by exploring how many Americans are engaged for their full 40 hours. Inspired by the book "Bullshit Jobs" by David Graeber, we are concerned with a more efficient work schedule that reflects actual demand and is more fulfilling for individuals in the work force.
Many Americans are assigned to unnecessary jobs or an excessive number of hours than is needed to be successful at their jobs. According to Graeber, this may be a leading cause of discontent in our culture not only for the extra hours we have to stay at the office but the deeper psychological results from feeling ineffectual or unused.
We invite you to take our survey so that we may gain deeper insight into this topic and promote the idea of the 20 hour work week, a more efficient system that we believe would not just increase worker satisfaction, but also productivity within a company.
