This assignment has two parts: (1) the in-lab exercise which must be finished and submitted at the day of the lab session, and (2) the take-home assignment, due in two week. You will also need to make a 5-minutes presentation based on the take-home assignment at the latter part of the semester
In-lab part is on Friday, January 17th, 2020
Caution: In-lab exercise submission will not be accepted after due date!
- Create a 1-3 pages presentation talking about yourself. Please include information such as:
- Your name
- Your hometown
- Your major
- Your favorite hobby
- After the exercise is completed, save the presentation as “studentid_powerpoint-inlab.pptx”, for example “590512345_powerpoint-inlab.pptx” (without quotes) . Submit the file electronically to http://hw.cs.science.cmu.ac.th.
Take-home part is due on Friday, February 7th, 2020
- Create a PowerPoint presentation about yourself, including the followings:
- First name, last name, student ID, faculty, major, and appropriates picture.
- Personal & educational background
- Other things you would like to say about yourself.
- Additional slides of any topic your interest (as long as it is suitable to be shown in public), for example, top 10 technology trends, restaurants in Chiang Mai, DIY projects, clothing brands, recipes, sports, artists, gadgets.
- You will need to make a 5-minutes presentation based on this, so make sure you can cover everything in the presentation on time. Keep this in mind if you would like to add a video clip in your presentation.
- Requirements:
- Suitable font style and size for an onscreen presentation
- Landscape orientation (default ratio of 4x3)
- Usage of animations, page transitions, or other additions
- [Optional] Charts, graphs or diagrams to make your point clearer.
- References to all images and data taken from the internet.
- A Slide footer containing, your name, student ID. Also, there should be page number on every slide, except the first.
- Anything to make an awesome presentation.
- Length of 6-10 slides and file size not more than 7 MB
- You might need to use compress pictures command to reduce the size of your presentation.
- After the exercise is completed
Save the presentation as “studentid_powerpoint-takehome.pptx”, for example “590512345_powerpoint-takehome.pptx” (without quotes). The assignment is to be submitted electronically at http://hw.cs.science.cmu.ac.th
On March 17th, or 24th, you will need to make a presentation using these slides. This will count to 5% of your total score for this class.
