Katie Kean is a senior principal consulting manager of Strategic Consulting for Advisors Plus.  Katie provides financial institutions with the critical business intelligence needed to drive portfolio optimization and growth based on insights gained through competitive analysis, industry and peer benchmarking, product set assessments, and projecting the impact of new technology. Her multi-faceted approach connects actionable strategy & analytic insights through cross-functional collaboration and execution.

Background:
With over 30 years of experience in financial services, Katie has a proven track record of enhancing portfolio profitability and member experience through technological innovation, strategic thinking, and deep-dive market analysis.  

Her previous roles as VP with both the PNC CFO team and Program Management Office as well as M&A teams at both National City and Bank of America, she conceptualizes strategies and creates comprehensive solutions to jumpstart portfolio profitability and growth organically or via mergers and acquisitions. As a certified strategic data storyteller, Katie translates data analytics into a multi-faceted approach connecting strategy through execution. 

Education:
Katie holds an MBA, a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Law, and graduate degrees in Enterprise Systems and Strategic Data Storytelling.  She is working towards her Doctorate at the University of Michigan.

Hobbies:
In her spare time, she shares her knowledge as an adjunct professor of Finance and Law at Western Michigan University and its sister university, Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, in Guiyang, China. She also demonstrates her discipline as a 5th-degree master instructor and athlete in Taekwondo. She received a technical appointment to assist with the sport of Taekwondo at the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics in Paris.
