2026/2027 Competition Information 

COMPETITION TEAM (optional)

We are excited to announce that we will have at least one group team routine choreographed by Wiley & Hannah.  

The dates for rehearsal are planned for August 16-18 and the exact schedule and concept TBA.

• Group Competition Team (minimum 2-3 competitions)

• Only Company Members are eligible to participate in our Competition Team.  Members can participate in a group routine and those who do are eligible for a solo/duo/trio.

• Solo, Duo, and Trio requests will be prioritized based on a company member’s participation in group competition routines. If your dancer would like to request a Solo, Duo, and/or Trio, priority will be given to dancers who are participating in at least one group team routine.  As we are still in the planning stages of shaping our group teams, we recommend submitting your Solo/Duo/Trio request with this policy in mind.

• Being part of our competition team offers dancers invaluable opportunities for personal and artistic growth. It fosters a sense of camaraderie, discipline, and accountability, as dancers work together. Beyond technical skill development, being on a team enhances performance abilities, adaptability, and versatility by exposing dancers to various styles, choreography, and professional instruction. It also provides unique experiences such as competitions, conventions, and performances, helping dancers build lifelong friendships and lasting memories. At EDS, developing these skills—both as dancers and individuals—is what winning truly looks like.

• Dancers may be part of Company without doing Competition Team. However, all members of competition team will be required to participate in Company. 

• Competition Team will practice once per week in the studio starting in SEP - MAR.

• Competition Team Tuition will be billed with class monthly tuition and includes:

  • Group competition entry fees

  • Team Jacket/Sweatshirt

  • Weekly Rehearsals

  • Choreography Camp

  • Team Director 

  • Costume(s)

  • Additional rehearsals (pre competition showcase, recital stage time, etc.)

  • Administration 

  • Team Registration to event

  • Upload and management of music prior to competition + on site

  • Meeting and short warm-up with on-site director/coach 10 routines or approximately 20 minutes before routine is scheduled to compete, pending availability.

  • Team Tuition EXCLUSIONS

    • Travel expenses

    • Lodging

    • Food

    • Solo / Duo / Trio expenses 

    • Studio Fee per event (for each dancer participating in a solo, duo and/or trio)
