In the 9U-12U divisions, batters are allowed to attempt to advance to first base on a dropped third strike.
Batters are NOT allowed to advance to first base on a dropped third strike in 8UMP.
Base Stealing:
No stealing of home will be allowed in 8UMP; players must score on a batted ball.
Runners may steal bases and advance at their own risk on passed balls in the 9U-14U divisions.
8UMP will use the "Blue Flame" style mechanical spring-loaded pitching machines.
Machine speed settings will be 3-4-9 (approximately 44 mph)
Please note that because we will be on turf, an eight-foot straight line will not be drawn on the field. The pitcher can line up on either side of the pitching machine but must stay behind the machine's front edge.
