Strike Zone Show Down

This is the second annual Strike Zone Show Down being held at McGirr Sports Fields. After such a success last year, we are really excited to be hosting again.

This tournament is consists of:

Ten (10) competitive teams (B teams)

Eight (8) house teams (C teams)

Location: 6175 McGirr Road, Nanaimo BC

Here are just a few of the fun things you can look forward to at the event:

Concession

Full Concession

A wide range of food options are offered right in the park. Lots of hot and cold food options, as well as a variety of hot and cold drinks. The concession will be open most of the weekend, and has Debit and cash options for payment.

Medals for 1st and 2nd Place in Each Division

1st and 2nd place in each division will receive medals, while 3rd and 4th place will receive ribbons.

Each player will also receive a swag bag—please make sure to complete the registration form fully so we can ensure every player gets their bag.

Apparel

Apparel order forms will be sent out in February to order tournament apparel. We are considering a few options this year:

Hoodies
Sweat pants
Lanyards
Hats

We’ll only have a limited selection of sizes available at the event, so if your team is interested, please place your order in advance when the email with the order form is sent.

Raffle and 50/50

There will be a 50/50 draw again this year! Last year’s winner walked away with a great prize.

We’re also planning a raffle table with paper tickets, and we’re hopeful to have lots of fantastic prizes again this year. Be sure to stop by and check it out!

Certified Umpires & Guaranteed Games

Every round robin game will have one certified umpires.

All the final games will have two umpires.

There is a 4-game guarantee for both divisions.

Registrants will be accepted in the order that we receive completed forms.

Payment information will be sent via email when your spot is confirmed.

Final confirmation will come once payment has been made so don't delay once you get the payment link!

Each season kicks off with an Icebreaker event designed to welcome players, spark excitement for softball, and showcase a fun, inclusive day of play.

This year, NMSA is excited to host Icebreaker events for the following age groups: U11C, U17C, and U20C.

U11C Icebreaker
NMSA will host a one-day U11C Icebreaker at Beban Park Fields on April 25, 2026.
Invited teams include those from the following Associations: Nanaimo, Ladysmith, and Oceanside.
Each team will play two games, and there will be a fun skills competition.

U17C/U20C Icebreaker
Subject to team numbers, there may also be a combined U17C/U20C Icebreaker at Beban Park Fields on April 25, 2026.
Invited teams will include those from Nanaimo, Ladysmith, and Oceanside.
The number of games will be determined based on the number of participating teams.

Further details, including schedules, will be circulated to associations and coaches in early April.
