Date: Monday, January 19, 2026
Time: Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. (Entries must be in place by 10:00 a.m)
Kickoff: 11:00 a.m. (Sharp)
Check-in: All entrants must check in at the registration table to receive an entry number and to confirm arrival.
Theme: "Dream with hope. Believe in the community. Lead with purpose."
(entries should incorporate the theme)
Route: The parade route will begin at East Olliff St. and North Main St. and continue through downtown Statesboro, turning at the center of town on West Main St. and then right onto MLK to end at Luetta Moore Park.
Awards: Winners in the float competition will be notified after the parade during the MLK, Jr. Community Celebration Program.
Award Categories: There will be an award given for the BEST OVERALL (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place floats). Entries will be judged on originality and the creative use of decorations depicting the parade theme. Entries are judged in four categories with scores ranging from 1 to 5 for each category.
Award Criteria: Originality of Design, Theme Incorporation, Special Effects (Crowd Engagement, Music), and Overall Entry Appeal
Parade Entry Form: To participate in the parade, you must complete and submit the entry form online, by email, by US mail, or return it in person to secure one of the limited slots that are available. Your parade entry form can be mailed to NAACP Post Office Box 1323, Statesboro, GA 30459, emailed to MLKBullochNAACP@gmail.com, or delivered in person no later than January 8, 2026. You may return your completed entry form in a sealed envelope to any of our partners listed below.
Parade fees are waived for the 2026 Parade; however, entrants will need to submit an application to secure a limited parade slot.
The deadline to submit an application is Monday, January 8, 2026. Please drop the application off in person if the deadline is approaching. Positions will be assigned by the parade committee immediately after the entry deadline, and your entry number will be given to you at the parade line-up location.
