The 6th International Conference of the Heidegger Circle in Asia
The 6th International Conference of the Heidegger Circle in Asia
In a world constantly bombarded with information demanding our attention, it is easy to become overwhelmed and lose our bearings. In this context, Heidegger’s claim from the 1950s sounds more urgent today than ever:
“Man acts as though he were the shaper and master of language, while in fact language remains the master of man. Perhaps it is before all else man's subversion of this relation of dominance that drives his nature into alienation. ... Among all the appeals that we human beings, on our part, can help to be voiced, language is the highest and everywhere the first.”
What does it mean, then, to live in a world shaped by large language models? What does being-in-the-world mean in the age of artificial intelligence?
The 2026 International Conference of the Heidegger Circle in Asia features presentations exploring these questions across a wide range of topics, including:
Aesthetics and artistic production
Technology, dwelling, and poetry
Language, education, and authenticity
The city and the province
For the first time, the conference will also feature a dedicated session for graduate student presentations.
