Child bedlessness is a national problem, and as a national nonprofit with chapters spread across the country, SHP has provided the solution. We are a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids who are sleeping on the floor and there are multiple ways to get involved right here in Northern Colorado. In 2024 we delivered 138 beds. So far in 2025 we have delivered 60 beds, See more on our CO-Loveland page.
SHP will have roughly 20-25 beds to deliver on Sept 6, so will need about 10 teams. The beds are compact to deliver so a minivan or SUV should be adequate to deliver two beds. Show up at the 'old' Loveland stake center 3800 Mountain Lion Drive Loveland . Short training will be held at the building at 9:00 before sending folks off with the beds to deliver beds to anticipated families so that "No Kid Sleep on the Floor in our Town".
Please review the on-line 5 minute training video about how to put together the beds.
Please bring the following if you have them (per team):
1. A power drill and a 1/2" socket that can fit in the drill.
2. 1/2" drill bit
3. 3/4" spade bit (not usually required)
These tools will be provided to groups that cannot bring them, but there are limited tool sets available. The first bed usually takes about an hour but then they go faster after that.
We're a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need. Our organization has grown steadily over time, and we're working on opening more chapters in different states to serve more people. No kid sleeps on the floor in our town®.
