CAVY SUPERINTENDENT NEEDED
We have a great opportunity to get involved: we are seeking Cavy and Utility Goat Superintendents.
As a Superintendent, you will help guide 4-H members in their projects, organize workshops and events, and provide support as youth learn and grow. You do not need to be a full expert in the species, just willing to share your time, learn alongside our members, and encourage them in their 4-H journey.
Superintendents play an important role in shaping the program, from planning project activities to coordinating events at the Boulder County Fair. This is a rewarding way to make a positive impact on young people while being part of a welcoming 4-H community.
If you are interested in becoming either the Cavy or Utility Goat Superintendent or if you know someone who might be a good fit, please contact Brenda at the 4-H Office. Applications are open now, and we would love to hear from you!
STATE FAIR PROJECT PICK UP
If you submitted a project to the State Fair, you can pick it up at the Extension Office from September 3-5, between 8:00 AM and 4:20 PM. Please note that we do not have space to store projects, so make sure to collect yours during this time.

Applications are due by December 15, 2025.
LIVESTOCK SALE THANK YOU NOTES
We want you to be sure to thank your buyers and supporters, however, we need you to bring those notes by the Extension office so we can check them off the list as completed.
Here is the process that will happen soon.
An email was sent to your Parent/Guardian email address used in FairEntry (August 22nd) from BCF livestock sale.
This email listed all buyers and add-on sponsors: names, business (if applicable), address
The exhibitor is to deliver all buyer and add-on Thank You notes to the Boulder County Extension Office in pre-addressed and stamped envelopes.
If you miss the September 11th deadline you will have $100 deducted from your check.
Upon receipt of your complete thank you listing, you will then be eligible to receive your check when the sale committee has collected money from the buyers and supporters.
We hope this helps explain the process of thank you notes and checks!
If you have any questions, please email the sale committee at: jrlivestocksale.bcf@gmail.com
LIVESTOCK RECORD BOOKS DEADLINE
All members who exhibited animals at the Boulder County Fair need to turn in a complete animal or livestock record book for each project. These are due to the Extension Office by Thursday, September 11, 2025, before 4:00 PM. Turning in your record book on time is required if you want to participate in those projects again next year.
Two options for turning in your record book:
Judging: Your book will be scored and compared with others in your category. Top books may win prizes at Achievement Night.
Completion only: Your book will be checked to make sure all parts are filled out and complete.
What you need to know:
Every project must have its own complete record book.
Check your work using the score sheets that judges will use.
Record books must be in a sturdy, secured folder (not a 3-ring binder). We sell green 4-H folders with the logo at the office for $4 each. They are optional, but your folder must be flat, hard-covered, and have metal clasps to hold pages in place.
Club leader deadlines:
Your club leader may set an earlier due date.
It is your responsibility to have your leader sign your record book before turning it in.
Important: When you hand in your book, tell your leader if it is for Judging or Completion Only.
Thank you for your hard work on your record books!
