Welcome Message

Bowls Singapore, takes great pleasure to welcome, teams from 11 countries, including our defending champions Hong Kong China and a very special welcome to Australia who are taking part for the first time and have brought a full team for the Lion City Cup and for the Singapore ParaBowls Merlion Cup.

It’s our great pleasure to welcome all the teams to Singapore to take part in this 8th Lion City Cup 2025. This is Singapore’s World Bowls Series, International Lawn Bowls Championship for World Bowls ranking points and we all know the competition will be top class. The event is a highlight of our annual calendar.

Once again we are especially pleased and you all should be very proud, that so many countries have been able to include the under 25 players in their teams which is a great indicator of the health and future growth of bowls in the region.

We sincerely thank our Sponsors who have all contributed in some way to make it possible for Bowls SG to hold the tournament, a special thank you to our major sponsors, YEO & H2O drinks, Lexian Electronics, VDL, Tote Board and Sport Singapore for it is their generosity and support that make the tournament possible and a very special thank you to Tanglin Club's President Kevin Jin and to Tanglin Club for their unwavering support of Bowls in Singapore and allowing our use of their Club Bowls green and facilities for the Lion City Cup.

The opportunity for our local bowlers to meet and compete with renowned international bowlers from the overseas teams will definitely help them to develop their skills and experience in the sport of lawn bowls.

I really need to give a big vote of thanks to Hanafi Bohari,  Edmund Lin, the members of the Organising Committee and the many willing Volunteers for the great effort they have put in, to organise this international lawn bowls championship.

I wish all bowlers success in the competition, that you take the opportunity to make and renew friendships with your fellow bowlers and most of all, enjoy the tournament. For the overseas bowlers, we wish you an enjoyable and memorable stay in Singapore and come back next year
