2025 POST-ICIS KrAIS RESEARCH WORKSHOP
“AI-Driven Business Innovation: Shaping the Next Digital Economy”
Nashville, USA – December 17, 2025
Immediately following the 2025 International Conference of Information Systems (ICIS) in Nashville, USA, the Korean Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (KrAIS) will hold its 18th annual Post-ICIS KrAIS Research Workshop (hereinafter, “the Workshop”) on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. We cordially invite you to submit your papers for consideration.
The theme for this year, “AI-Driven Business Innovation: Shaping the Next Digital Economy,” fosters a forward-looking dialogue on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in business and society. It highlights emerging global AI trends, novel AI-enabled business models, and strategic approaches for navigating the uncertainties and unprecedented opportunities of an AI-powered economy. The Workshop aims to provide a vibrant forum for KrAIS scholars and industry professionals to exchange insights, explore how AI-driven innovation is reshaping competitive advantage, and collectively envision the next digital economy.
This year, we will host two parallel sessions: (1) the general presentation session (GPS) and (2) the paper development session (PDS). The GPS welcomes original research on a broad range of information systems topics that have not been published or submitted elsewhere, including to ICIS 2025 or its associated workshops. The PDS invites submissions of research-in-progress papers that demonstrate strong potential for high-impact research. Authors will have the opportunity to receive in-depth feedback from distinguished senior scholars with extensive publishing and editorial experience at top IS journals. Papers published in other conferences or workshops may be submitted to the PDS but not to the GPS. Doctoral students and junior faculty members are especially encouraged to submit their work. Student-authored papers will receive special consideration. Please note that the authorship of accepted papers cannot be changed once the camera-ready version is submitted.
Important Dates:
Submission System Open: Monday, August 18, 2025
Submission Deadline: Tuesday, October 10, 2025 (Time zone: Seoul, Korea)
Notification of Acceptance: Monday, October 27, 2025
Camera-Ready Version Deadline: Friday, November 10, 2025
Workshop: Wednesday, December 17, 2025
Fast-Track Journal Publication Opportunities
High-quality papers presented at the workshop will be considered for fast-track publication in the Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems (APJIS), the flagship journal of the Korean Society of Management Information Systems (KMIS).
Best Student Paper Award
To encourage scholarship among Korean doctoral students, KrAIS will offer Best Student Paper Awards.
Background
As a chapter of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), KrAIS aims to promote the scholarship of AIS members with Korean heritage. Korean scholars and professionals – both domestic and abroad – who are engaged in the development, management, and use of information and communication technologies are encouraged to participate.
The Workshop serves as a forum for exchanging ideas, sharing information, and fostering collaboration among members. In particular, it is dedicated to supporting graduate students and junior faculty in advancing their research, developing scholarship, and building their careers through close interaction and guidance from peers and senior faculty.
Submission
Authors are invited to submit either completed research papers or research-in-progress papers, following the 2025 KrAIS Workshop formatting requirements. All submissions must be in English. The submission template for both types of papers can be downloaded (here). The papers must be submitted via the Microsoft CMT system (here). Submissions will undergo a blind review process.
Page Limit Requirements
Completed Research Papers: Maximum of 14 single-spaced pages, following the 2025 KrAIS Workshop submission template. The page count must include all text, figures, tables, and appendices, but excludes the cover page, abstract, keywords, and references.
Research-in-Progress Papers: Maximum of 7 single-spaced pages, following the 2025 KrAIS Workshop submission template. The page count must include all text, figures, tables, and appendices, but excludes the cover page, abstract, keywords, and references.
(The page limits specified above will be applied flexibly for papers submitted to the PDS)
Format of Workshop
To foster in-depth discussion and the exchange of ideas, the Workshop will feature parallel sessions in which five to six authors briefly present their research for approximately 10 minutes each, followed by questions and open discussion. Sessions will be organized around common research topics and led by senior scholars serving as mentors. All participants are expected to have read all papers assigned to their table prior to the Workshop, ensuring that discussions focus on constructive feedback and ways to improve the paper. All participants may choose to present or discuss in either Korean or English, as most KrAIS members are bilingual.
Time and Venue
The Workshop will take place from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on December 17, 2025 (exact time and venue details will be announced closer to the date). Immediately following the Workshop, the KrAIS business meeting and dinner will be held that same evening.
