My name is Ming Yi Chen. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, NYCU. My background is in materials science with a focus on first-principles calculations using DFT. Recently, I have been exploring applications of machine learning in materials research. I'm passionate about combining theory and data-driven approaches to accelerate materials discovery.

Title: Predicting Material Performance in Complex Alloys: A Machine Learning Approach to A356 and HEAs

Abstract: In this study, machine learning techniques were successfully applied to predict the mechanical properties of A356 aluminum alloy. Several models, including Random Forest and XGBoost, were implemented and evaluated. The performance of each model was compared in detail, highlighting their respective advantages and limitations. The results demonstrate the potential of data-driven approaches in accelerating alloy property prediction and guiding materials design.
