2025 AVS Ohio

A one-day Symposium addressing cutting-edge issues in materials, interfaces, & processing.

This is a multi-disciplinary Symposium that cuts across traditional boundaries between disciplines (including physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering), specifically covering surface science, biomaterial interfaces, electronic and magnetic materials, thin films, nanoscale science, plasma science, and vacuum science.

Students of all disciplines are encouraged to attend and participate in the poster session!

Invited Talks & Awards

Speakers from across Ohio will present invited talks on their cutting edge research, and AVS Ohio will award our Early Career Scholar Award as well as our inaugural Legacy of Excellence Awards.

Vendor and Local Employer Expo

Sponsors from instrument vendors and local companies in the private sector will host tables advertising their top quality instruments, services, and career opportunities.

Student Poster Session

Students are invited and encouraged to submit posters to communicate their research and compete to win cash prizes in the categories of (1) undergraduate students, (2) Master's and Pre-Candidacy PhD students, and (3) PhD Candidate.
