September is a fairly cold month in Christchurch, with average highs of 15°C, lows of 3°C, and a mean temperature of 9°C. Cold winds and rain remain common and can keep the real-feel temperature low. We recommend bringing wet weather gear, plenty of thermals and heat packs, especially for the cold mornings!
