Student Affairs 101 is a one-day conference designed to introduce and explore the dynamic field of student affairs. Co-hosted by graduate programs across Illinois, including Eastern Illinois University, Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and Western Illinois University, this annual event brings together aspiring and current professionals from across the Midwest. This year's conference is co-sponsored by the Illinois State Chapter (ICPA) and ACPA's Graduate Student and New Professionals Community of Practice. 

The 2025 conference will be held at Northern Illinois University on Friday, October 24.

This engaging event welcomes undergraduate students, graduate students, student affairs professionals, and faculty who are passionate about supporting college student success.

Who Should Attend:

• Undergraduate Students interested in Higher Education & Student Affairs will gain insight into the field, learn how to prepare for graduate school, and connect with a variety of graduate programs.
  
  

• Graduate Students will benefit from professional development sessions, network with colleagues in the field, and share their insights with undergraduates just beginning their journey.
  
  

• Student Affairs Professionals can use the conference as a recruitment opportunity, engage with emerging professionals to understand their interests and aspirations, and take advantage of affordable professional development via our new Student Affairs Professional track.
  
  

• Program Faculty & Coordinators are invited to host a table at the Graduate School Fair. Programs unable to attend in person may submit materials to be shared with attendees.
