All questions to be submitted via paper forms in the meeting - if selected, you will have the option to ask your question directly from the microphone, or to have the moderator read your question on your behalf (you will be identified by name)
Moderator will screen all questions based on the below guidelines:
Questions must be related to matters within the jurisdiction of the Town of Diamond Valley's council (i.e., questions on provincial or federal issues will not be asked)
Questions should be applicable to all candidates
Personal attacks or questions deemed not to be respectful of candidates will not be asked
These decisions will be made at the sole discretion of the moderator and all decisions are final
Questions must be brief and get directly to the point to respect the questions of others
Residents will be asked to name 1-3 candidates to ask the question to (again, to avoid repetition). If you do not select, or if there is a severe imbalance in opportunities to speak, the moderator will select for you
"Get in on It" passes can also be used during this segment
Any extra time will revert to moderated Q&A
Closing statements from candidates (60 seconds) - subject to compression by moderator if required
End of the night
Jamie Wilkie was a Turner Valley councillor for a good time, not a long time - serving due to a byelection from 2019 - 2021. His real job is as an instructor and the Co-Head of Product Development for Training The Street, the world's largest provider of technical training courses to clients in the finance and accounting industries.
In addition to being a nerd about all things municipal politics, Jamie is passionate about ensuring that residents know who they vote for and what they can do. This is much to the chagrin of his 2 boys Henry and Holden and his incredibly understanding wife Kym. They live on the Turner Valley side of Diamond Valley.
(Event Begins October 6 @ 7:00PM)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Getting the livestream to work is dependent on internet connection and many other technical factors. While we will make every effort to make it available, we cannot guarantee its availability. The best way to make 100% certain you don't miss out is to be there live.
