2024 NMMI SUMMER STEAM CAMP

Our mission is to educate the next generation and to prepare them for possible future STEAM Careers

Our vision is to stimulate interest in STEAM career paths by engaging children in STEAM activities

Each day, students will participate in activities that encompass science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). In between these activities, we will provide a half-hour recess with enjoyable games and activities. Just before lunchtime, we have arranged for NMMI authorities to visit and engage with the students, creating an interactive experience. Finally, on the last day of the camp, we will hold a closing ceremony at the NMMI chapel to mark the end of this enriching program. 

The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) was established in 1891 as a public military High School and Junior College in Roswell, New Mexico. Known as “the West Point of the West,” NMMI operates under the auspices of the State of New Mexico, under a dedicated Board of Regents that reports to the Governor of New Mexico. The school enrolls nearly 1,000 cadets at the junior college and high school levels each year from 45 states, 2 U.S. territories (Puerto Rico and American Samoa), and 35 foreign nations. 

The NMMI Summer STEAM Camp will be hosted at McClure Hall, which is conveniently located right beside Main Street in Roswell. The closing ceremony of the NMMI Summer STEAM Camp will be held at the NMMI Alumni Memorial Chapel.
