Previous events

The Linguistic Summer Institute of Taiwan has been organizing every two years since 2002. Each events focuses on different themes and have invited experts and scholars from both domestic and international fields to exchange ideas. These events have received enthusiastic responses from various sectors within the domestic academic community, contributing to the development of the field.

However, due to limited funding, this event was suspended after 2014. In an effort to cultivate linguistic talent, promote academic development, facilitate interdisciplinary research, and enhance the field’s vitality, the Linguistic Society of Taiwan has decided to revive the Linguistic Summer Institute of Taiwan in July 2024. This year, the event will center around the theme of “Syntax and Semantics ”, offering a total of 54 hours of intensive courses. The goal is to ignite interest in language research among graduate students and young scholars as well as fostering linguistic professionals.
