NSF Student Travel Award

The ASC 2024 Student Travel Award is an NSF-funded initiative organized by the conference organizers to support student attendance at the American Society for Composites (ASC) 39th Annual Technical Conference to be held in San Diego, CA, October 21-23, 2024.
The goals of this award are to: 1) broaden the participation of students in the ASC conference, 2) engage students in conference activities and the composites community, and 3) provide them with professional development activities to enhance their overall experience at the conference. Student members of underrepresented groups in engineering are highly encouraged to apply. We also welcome first-time ASC conference attendees and people who have not yet had any conference presentations or publications.
Please complete this form to apply for the award. As part of your application, you will also need to request a letter of recommendation from a professor or mentor. Recommenders must submit their letters via this form.
Applications and recommendation letters must be submitted by July 19, 2024.
Eligibility
Be at least 18 years old as of October 21, 2024.
Be a presenting author or co-author of a paper to be presented at the ASC 39th Technical Conference
Be a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) enrolled in a U.S. based institution of higher education.
Postdoctoral scholars are not eligible for this award.
There are no citizenship requirements.
You are expected to participate in the entire ASC conference (Monday to Wednesday, 10/21 - 10/23) and in the professional development activities organized for you before, during, and after the conference.
