The Lined Cat
Madison Y, Age 8
This is a story about a cat that has lines and socks but is happy anyway.
Even though Morgan didn't hit the ball the first time around, she kept trying and didn't let her imperfections stop her.
This story relates to the theme because the story is about a maple tree who was strange and different. It didn’t care because it knew that no one was perfect and it accepted its imperfection.
I wrote this poem because nobody is perfect and our history isn't perfect. We can learn from it.
My story relates to the theme because it is about how accepting imperfections can make your life more positive.
This is a haiku about how when you feel terrible about your mistake and you fall "down there" where you feel like you are the worst. But you realize that you can "get out", you just have to believe, but you feel like you can't. Then when you finally CAN believe, you "climb out" of "down there" and you feel like you can do anything.
