Special Feature:  Subjects Learned During the Trip

Video produced/edited by Will & Niven

Good morning to my curiosity people,

The sun hasn’t risen up yet but we are, since we have to get up really early to get ourselves prepared for the long trip back to the city that is completely opposite from what we have been staying for two nights. That’s Hanoi for you, a city that is crowded with overpopulated motorbikes and businesses that are trying its hardest to grab people attention. Anyways, as we have risen up, and all I could see is full of fog that is so misty and dense ahead of us. That lead me to thinking about how can local people be fine with that kind of weather everyday and act so casually. Honestly, that kind of weather isn’t stopping anyone from starting off their day. The energy and determination of Vietnamese kept amazing me everyday in every different cities.

As the fog worsen, we are eating our own breakfast which we got ourselves from the convenience store and getting ready to hop on the van. Surprisingly, we got ourselves into the van on time and really early at the bus station where we will ride the bus for six hours. We had to vacuum all of our snacks before we get in the bus since we only can drink the water that is already provided for the ride. I can’t wait to have the weather to get clear up as the sun comes up so that we can see the beautiful landscape that we already travelled through the overnight bus ride.

The time started counting down once the bus started to move, we honestly had no chance to hold our eyelids open for another 30 minutes. I have to admit that I couldn’t too, but I managed to see the unique landscape as rice farm terrace is literally almost everywhere. I wish it’s in the rice season where everything will be with beautiful green color. Unfortunately, it’s not in the season, but I can see the beauty of the nature that represents the truly amazing landscape that Vietnam has for their desires of growing up rice. As we are going the incline slopes as if we are skiing down the mountain and run up the hill, honestly, I can’t imagine what amount of confidence our bus driver have to able to drive those insane slopes especially with the frequent of sharp curves. I feel like only Formula One drivers can drive those kind of curves with the speed, but if they are looking for more drivers, I seriously would nominate our bus driver out of all drivers in the world.

After the never ending trip, we somehow finally ended our trip at Hanoi. I can sense the disappointment inside of me and I already tired of this kind of stuff where everything is just crowded and polluted with people and businesses. I already miss seeing the beauty of the nature and wild animals especially the water buffalo since they are really roaming around in the place that you wouldn’t expect them to be at. I think it’s the true culture of Vietnam that most of the major cities in Vietnam is missing unlike Sa Pa. I would still consider that Hanoi city is a nice place regardless of the amount of its influenced by another countries.

Time will always go by but the memories will be not, so we spent time around the city for a bit and stayed in a cafe to meet our tour guide who will be our guide for the remains before we go back to our sweet country (I honestly miss my rights as a deaf person). Our tour guide is pretty cool and friendly as our previous tour guides, so that means I have the expectation to have a blast time with my international studies friends before our fun field trip come to an end.

As speaking of a blast time, I already have a great time with boys after we checked out our boys Airbnb bedroom, it’s literally a castle and bunch of cool wallpapers (we can ignore that it’s full of pink color bedroom). Well, I mean, there’s nothing wrong with controlling over a pink kingdom and pretending that we are kings of the castle. Okay, don’t talk about that and let’s focus on the outside of that beautiful pink kingdom bedroom. Before we end this, don’t forget about this quote, “Curiosity kills the cat”.

Stay clueless my fellows,

Lev
