The Student Advisory Council conducted their first meeting of the new year. This year's group features: two new co-leads and four returning students. Students are represented from both our first-time freshmen and transfer population, as well as our Chicago, Wheeling, and online campuses.

Dr. Robyn Moncrief, Program Director, Computer Science and Information Systems, developed and ran the NASA/TOPS 5 day workshop with 27 students/participants.
Undergraduate student, Jesus Morales, won an all-expenses-paid trip to Paris, France, as part of the B.A. in Communication and Media program’s Paris Café Writing (PCW) scholarship!
Senior Director, Undergraduate Educator Preparation, Sasha Villagrana-Frost was selected as one of the 21 Surge Chicago Fellows.
Students traveled to Dallas, Texas to attend the Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference. The topics included - culturally relevant computing, gender-inclusive design, accessibility, unconscious bias, imposter syndrome, recruitment and retention, among others.

Zora, The Story Keeper, written by Dr. Ebony Wilkins, has been named to several 2023 Best Books lists this year!
