We're having another good summer filled with tons of fun exploring the roads with friends.
Twefth Week Ride August 27th 2025. Wheels down at 6:30pm
Meeting location is in the RSVP. See you there!
There is plenty of room after for a proper tailgater as well.
NOTE: There are washrooms.
For the first couple rides, we'll go through some cycling etiquette to ensure we all stay safe on the road. Please ensure your rear blinky light is fully charged and your saddle bag is well stocked (tube, inflator, CO2 canister, tire lever, patch kit).
Tonight's ride will be roughly 100 min as we're slowly going longer as the weather warms and the daylight hours are extended. As usual, we'll gather after the ride.
Starting on Wednesday May 28th 2025 at 6:20pm, our club members are invited to come on a fully supported and coached weekly ride! All abilities of cyclists, from completely new to very experienced are welcome and encouraged to come. The Doctrine's coaches and guides will ensure each cyclist will end up in the appropriate group and be lead through a fun ride at the appropriate pace. Guaranteed, there will be a group that is your speed and ability! The goal of these rides is to get our members out for an active, social evening enjoying the roads and pathways surrounding Calgary. Every ride will end with us possibly convening in a local pub or enjoying a tailgater get together to continue to connect and network.
Every Wednesday starting May 28th 2025 at 6:20pm (NO CLUB RIDE ON JULY 9th)
Block your calendars!
Meeting location and route will be announced several days prior to each Wed.
Hanging out post ride is the best part of the ride... A cold beer or bubbly water will be waiting for each rider!
Eight years ago we started these Outdoor Coached Rides and had a lot of fun. They are organized, high-quality, social, and tons of fun! Our vision is to provide cyclists with a place to meet and enjoy their hobby with friends while progressing their skills and becoming better cyclists. We have an enviable coaching crew that will deliver outdoor expertise to all abilities.
Once registered, Wednesday night Doctrine cyclists will enjoy a consistent day and time to simply show up with their bike and ride. The goal will be to split up into ability groups and work on aspects of cycling that is relevant to that group while keeping it social. Skills, group riding etiquette, gearing, and pacing will be bundled in with getting in a challenging training session (if desired) and some good social fun that is between 1.5 to 2 hours.
NOTE: For those RIDING TO THE RIDE, if required, I will have a bike trailer parked in front of our meeting place for you to place your bike in while you are inside the pub if we are going to one. So no need to pack locks or place bikes in patio of pub.
See you at the next ride you can make it!
Most of your coaches are carrying their light first aid kits as well as flat repair gear. If you get a flat, or a mechanical while riding and require assistance, please use a coach.
We'll outline the night and what group to ride with. Your coaches are; Trev, Marie, Dennis, Jamie, Mary, Jerry, Brent, and Mike.
Please put these text numbers of your coaches into your phone now:
Trev Williams 403.831.8738, Marie Tessier 403.837.0921, Coach Dennis 403.554.1833,
Coach Mary 403.807.2154, Coach Jamie 587.573.3247
There is an AED and First Aid Kit in the Doctrine Van. (Along with tools and flat kits.)
Post-Ride, we have some beverages in a cooler and light snacks if you would like to stick around :)
Cabin Brewing and Last Best Brewery were our beers of choice last summer and we're looking forward to our partnership for 2025 again.
Because of the variable nature of our weather, your coaches will always be at the ride start location at the correct time. We will make a call at 6:30pm. Too many times in the past, we've missed out on a great ride because the forecast had predicted incorrectly! We ride in light to moderate rain, but not lightening or hail.
Our cancelation policy is pretty tight. Unless the air quality is 7 or above, or there is active lightening in the area, for the most part we'll ride. If the air quality is 6 or less and there is only rain and no active lightening, then we'll be at the ride and we'll leave it to you to determine if you want to come or not. We'll only cancel a ride from the parking lot or during a ride if a lightening storm breaks out.

This club was created and is hosted, organized, and run by The Doctrine Training Ltd. , locally owned and operated by Trev Williams, who, along with his experienced coaches, provides an opportunity for busy Calgarians to schedule an extremely fun, healthy, and rewarding hobby while sometimes combining it with corporate networking motivation.
