The following public transport lines have routes that pass Deakin University:
Tram: the 75 tram between Vermont South and Central Pier Docklands stops out the front of the university (stop #63 on Burwood Highway). 

Buses: the 201 bus and the 768 bus between Deakin and Box Hill. The 281 bus between Deakin and Templestowe.
