Peter Bailey

Peter L. Bailey, recently appointed as the Superintendent of the Texas School for the Deaf starting in July, has been serving as the Head of School (Superintendent) at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Philadelphia since 2016. With nearly 30 years of experience in Deaf education, Peter has held various roles at notable institutions, including Maryland School for the Deaf (Coordinator of Residence Education), Delaware School for the Deaf (Student Advisor/Vice Principal), American School for the Deaf (Assistant Dean of Students/Camp Director), Texas School for the Deaf (Supervisor of Residential Services), and The Learning Center for the Deaf (Associate Executive Director/Chief Operations Officer) in Massachusetts. 

Additionally, he served as the State Director in Human Services for Communication Service for the Deaf in South Dakota and Texas for five years. Peter has contributed to the field through his involvement as a former board member for the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD) and the American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC). He earned a BS in Human Services and an MS in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College in Massachusetts.
