Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your show time and check in your dancer(s) downstairs at the dressing rooms. Have one parent check in your dancer and that parent will receive the wristband. If your dancer is in multiple shows you will need to recheck in at each show. Your dancers Dressing room will be located downstairs in the foyer.
There is no food or drinks allowed in or near the dressing rooms due to dancers with severe food allergies. Labeled water bottles are fine! Please do not send your dancers with ipads, tablets, cellphones, video games or any similar electronics.
Hair, Costumes and Makeup: We recommend due to stage lighting that your dancer wears makeup, so their features are not washed out on stage. Your dancer should wear eye shadow, eye liner, blush, mascara and lipstick. For our youngest dancers (4 & under), please put what you are comfortable putting on your dancer. The instructions for hair style, headpieces and accessories are in your costume bag. Please make sure your dancer has the correct style and color shoes. All dancers 8 and older that have costume changes must have a body liner. If your child is wearing the skin tone body liner, we suggest putting it on them first, then their tights over it, then the costume. If they have to change their tights, we suggest layering them, putting the skin tone tights on first and then the pink ballet tights. This is the easiest way to change tights. (Please order body liners no later than April 1st).
Preparation: Please prepare all costumes, accessories, shoes, and makeup several days in advance so you’ll know if something is missing or isn’t right. We suggest you also bring extra hair gel, hair nets, bobby pins, safety pins, baby wipes, clear nail polish (you can fix minor holes in tights when there is no time to change them) and hairspray. Also, each student’s name should be placed in his or her costumes, shoes, tights, and accessories. (Please put child’s name inside dance shoes) *NO gum, jewelry, earrings, nail polish, or undies under tights*
Recital Finale T-Shirts: These are in your costume bag and will be worn over costumes for the finale. Do not forget to bring the finale t- shirts to the recital with the rest of the costumes. This needs to be labeled as well. If your child is in the last 6 numbers before the finale we will have you give your child’s finale tee to us at your dress rehearsal. This will be explained at dress rehearsal.
IMPORTANT: Staying organized is very important to us. We have a large staff and teachers backstage who are familiar with how the show/backstage runs. They will take great care of your dancers!
Preschool Dancers-They will be sitting with you in the theater through the show except when they are performing. We will ask the parent with the wristband to bring your child to the dressing room 6 acts before they go on stage. Once you have given them to us, you may go sit in the theater to watch them. We will line them up and take them to the stage to perform. Once they have finished their dance the parent with the wristband will need to come back to the dressing room to pick up your child and take them back to the audience to enjoy the show. This will be repeated depending on how many dances your child is in. A staff member will go over with you during dress rehearsal when we will need your dancer in the dressing room. Reminder, if your preschooler will be sitting in their own seat and not on someone's lap, a ticket will need to be purchased for them.
Dismissal-After the Finale, we release dancers by age (youngest to oldest) from the stage to go back to the dressing room. No one will be allowed into the dressing rooms until we have every child safely back into the dressing rooms. The parent or guardian with the wristband must be the one checking out the dancer.NO DANCER WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE TAKEN OFF THE STAGE.
