The Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program (CDIP) has been recruiting future faculty for the California State University (CSU) system since 1987. It provides promising doctoral students aspiring to faculty careers in the CSU with mentoring, professional development, and access to research and conference grants and forgivable loans.
This directory features fellows who are seeking or may soon seek CSU tenure track faculty appointments. It is intended to support campus efforts to recruit candidates with the ability and motivation to educate the CSU’s diverse student body. Each fellow has authorized the Chancellor’s Office to share their biographical information and research interests with campus search committees.
The cornerstone of CDIP is mentoring: in addition to working with mentors in their doctoral programs, each fellow works with a CSU faculty member who provides support throughout the doctoral program and during the job search. The CSU faculty mentors provide guidance on research, teaching, and service that can prepare CDIP fellows for the CSU job market. CDIP fellows also learn from an array of veteran and recently hired CSU faculty about setting a competitive research and publication agenda and developing equity-minded teaching philosophies and practices that uniquely prepare them to work with the diverse CSU student populations that we serve.
CDIP fellows are dedicated to the mission of the CSU. We encourage you to consider interviewing fellows for open positions on your campus. CDIP reimburses up to $1,500 in travel expenses for each CDIP candidate a campus department invites to an interview.
Please use this link to access the reimbursement form: CDIP Interview Incentive for CSU Campuses (please note we need an approved campus travel expense form, including receipts, and job announcement). Funds will be transferred using an IFT.
Fellows who are on the job market are listed in eight disciplines: Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Humanities, Natural Science, Social Science, and Health & Human Sciences. Click on the discipline areas in the top menu (including the pulldown) to view their profiles. Search specific disciplines by using the search tool at the top of the page.
