What is Brain Awareness Week?
Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is a global campaign set up to increase public awareness of the progress in and societal impact of brain research. Every March, partners host innovative activities in their communities that promote enthusiasm for brain research and an appreciation for the impact it has on our everyday lives.

When you reach the front of the building, there will be a sign that will guide you to the registration desk in front of the auditorium on the ground floor of the CCO.
Which entrance to the campus should I use?
Please use the main entrance along Charitéplatz 1. It is indicated as 'A' on the map above.
What should I tell the security if they ask me to show a Charité ID?
The security will be informed about the event. In case they still insist, please show the email confirming your attendance to the Hackathon.
Are there any fees involved in participating in the Hackathon?
No, it is completely free to register to and participate in the Hackathon.
Do I have to stay for the whole duration?
Yes.
Where can I find more information about rules of the Hackathon?
On the day of the event, all the rules of the Hackathon will be explained to the participants in detail. Event organizers will also be available throughout the event to clarify any questions you may have.
Do I need to prepare anything for the event in advance?
No, you don't need to.
Will there be refreshments?
Yes, there will be two coffee breaks with light snacks and an additional pizza break in the evening.
Do we need to bring our computers?
Yes. They will be useful for the design and presentation phases of the Hackathon.
Can I earn credit points (ECTS) if I participate in the Hackathon?
Yes, participants are eligible to receive 0.2-0.5 ECTS for attending the Hackathon (ultimately, the amount of ECTS will be determined by the program you are enrolled in). Please send us an email if you would like to receive credits for your attendance.
What are the judging criteria?
Outputs will be judged according to their (i) innovative nature/originality, (ii) feasibility, (iii) interdisciplinarity, and (iv) potential for scalability.
