Open Problems sessions

The workshop will feature two Open Problems sessions, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings: one for each of the two themes of the workshop. We strongly encourage attendees to prepare some open problems in advance, as these will be used to jumpstart conversations and discussions during the following days. Attendees will either present themselves, or can ask one of the organisers to do so.

There is no need to be overly formal or detailed, but ideally an open problem will contain:

  • A clearly defined problem or question

  • The relevant background and notation (do not assume everyone will be familiar with the standard notation in your area!)

  • The motivation for the question, and why it is important to your community

  • The current state (any known partial or conjectured solutions, relevant references if possible)

Preparing a couple slides is encouraged, though there will be a whiteboard available as well. 👩‍🏫
