While covering the four domains of language engagement and learning to increase academic literacy for ALL students, this fun and interactive session demonstrates the successful writing strategy by Miss Dorito called “The Writing Recipe”. The Writing Recipe is an evidence-based method on writing that ensures ALL students are on the path of writing proficiency while giving teachers the confidence to teach writing in all content areas! Throughout this highly engaging session, educators will learn how to use The Writing Recipe in their classrooms, see a lesson using Virginia Standards, break down each domain: listening, reading, speaking, AND writing, to see authentic, implementable writing strategies that can be used immediately for all levels of EL! Each moment of this session celebrates academic language, social language, and the importance of fueling students with the knowledge of academic English thus arming students with a voice…their written one!
