Articulating Your Value to Yourself and Others As An Early Career Professional

As an early career professional, it can be easy to undersell your skills and knowledge. We'll discuss ways to assess the value you bring through reflection, challenge you to examine how you articulate your value currently, and offer tips to find people to champion you and communicate your value widely.

Personal Voice And Playful Facades: Mask Play For Unmasking

Mackenzie Doss, Puppet Arts, Drama

This workshop helps participants find their creative voice, demonstrating that play is often an exercise in self- acknowledgement and self-compassion. Beginning with a 15 minute free write, participants will spend the rest of the session adapting their writing into a performative character using pieces provided by the workshop leader. Participants will recognize that a key personal strength is sometimes just giving yourself permission to speak, to be seen, to take up space. No experience necessary! Just a desire to play.

BIPOC Mindfulness

Nishelli Ahmed, Health Educator, Student Health and Wellness

This session is an opportunity for participants to learn a variety of mindfulness techniques. Participants will practice as a group and walk away with mindfulness techniques that they can employ in their respective workplaces.

This will be a space specifically for people of color to practice mindfulness and heal in safety without the thread of adding more racial trauma as can be present in white-centered spaces.
