2022 Symposium of Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences

Symposium of Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences (SMIRS), is a symposium associated with the investigation of medical imaging and radiological sciences. Every year the conference is hosted by a different school. This year, the 16th international symposium is organized by Chang Gung University (CGU).

A total of ten universities, including National Yang-Ming University, Kaohsiung Medical University, Yuanpei University of Medical Technology, Chang Gung University, China Medical University, I-Shou University, Chung Shan Medical University, Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Shu-Zen Junior College of Medicine and Management, Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology, are dedicated to the development of Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences.

Several fields are involved in medical imaging and radiological sciences. The clinical applications can be divided into three categories: diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology, and nuclear medicine. Imaging modalities such as ultrasound, computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and radiation therapy equipment, are included in the diagnosis or treatment of the diseases. All of them play an important role not only in clinical applications but also in research studies.

Call for Abstracts - The 16th Symposium of Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences in 2022.

1. Date of meeting: October 22, 2022 (Saturday).

2. Meeting Venue: Conference Hall, 6F the Engineering Building, Chang Gung University

3. Host organizations: Chang Gung University, Taiwan Society of Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences, Taiwan Society of Radiological Technologists, and Taiwan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.

4. Co-organizations: Taoyuan Association of Radiological Technologists and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou.

Two categories as follows: (1) Medical Imaging (2) Radiological Sciences.

Submission Information

1. Submission deadline: October 2, 2022.

2. Presentations: Oral and poster presentations in Chinese or English formats.

3. Experts in the relevant fields will review all abstracts through the peer-review process.

4. The best posters and the best oral presentation will be awarded in different disciplines.

Abstract Format

1. Both Chinese and English abstracts are acceptable, including the title, authors, affiliations, as well as sections of purpose, methods, results and discussion, conclusion.

2. Please prepare your abstracts according to the guidelines. The total word limit of the abstract is 300-500 words.

3. Please make the expanded form of an abbreviation available by associating the expanded form with its abbreviation the first time it occurs. Please confirm the format before submitting it.

2. Please provide the file as a “Word document” for abstract submission.

3. Duplicate submission is not allowed, and the abstract will be rejected.

Presentation Format

1. Oral presentation: 6-minute presentation and 2-minute discussion.

2. Poster presentation: 90 cm (width) x 120 cm (height).
