What are you most looking forward to as a participant in the VBA Mentorship Program and what resources are you most interested in gaining access to: I am mostly looking forward to gaining more knowledge about being a leader in a bank. I am looking forward to learning what my strengths are and how I can apply them in a leadership role working for a financial institution. Being an appraiser with a very specific area of expertise and my current employer being the only bank I have worked for, I feel that I need to learn more about other functions that are important for a bank to be successful and how my role as a leader would fit in this puzzle. I am very interested in meeting other people who are in other roles working for a bank. I am excited about learning from other people who have more experience and learning from them what challenges they faced and how they overcame these challenges. I am looking forward to workshops and meetings with my mentor which can guide me to resources that will help me be successful in the future. I am definitely very excited to have a mentor and be able to share thoughts and ideas with someone who is in a different role, has more experience in leadership and may see things from another perspective.
