Brief description of your role in your organization: The banking industry is changing at a rapid pace, and in my role as SVP, Education & Training/Communications at the Virginia Bankers Association, I spend my days developing relevant and timely educational programming and communications to help our members best serve their customers and communities. VBA Education & Training events bring bankers from across Virginia together to learn and network, and I find so much joy in providing a forum for bankers to form business relationships and friendships that last a lifetime.

My days are spent:

• Meeting with bankers across job functions to listen to the challenges and opportunities they face in their financial institutions so that I can then recommend and/or develop programming to help them address those issues.

• Creating innovative educational programming that addresses the needs of our members and provides interesting perspectives from outside the industry in an effort to help our members grow personally and professionally.

• Creating communications content for our various publications aimed at a variety of audiences to include the media, our members, legislators and/or the general public.

• Finding ways to promote the banking industry in Virginia and highlighting the multitude of ways banks give back to the customers and communities they serve.

When I am not working on behalf of the banks in Virginia, I enjoy traveling with my family, including my two young boys, to destinations suitable for alpine skiing in the winter or for surfing in the summer.
