If you are attending in person, please arrive at the event 15 minutes beforehand to get organized into teams! Room information will be provided in the days leading up to the event. In order to participate virtually in this year’s event, guests will be required to have a stable internet connection. The event will function with the use of the speedquizzing live app on a smartphone and contestants will be invited onto a zoom call which will open 15 minutes before trivia commences (6:45pm PT). Please join the call at 6:45pm. Virtual participants will need to join a team which will be placed into zoom breakout rooms during the event. A livestream of the trivia will be shared on the GR YouTube page that will have to be shared in each zoom breakout room.
Given the challenge of operating this event in person and remotely we have structured it to accommodate as many guests as possible and provide a window for teams to organize and to test things out, however we expect that certain challenges will inevitably pop up so please bear that in mind.
Please carefully read the following Rules and Instructions:
Trivia will commence at 7:15 pm PDT, please show up ~15 minutes before 7:00 pm PDT in order to give people time to organize into teams. If you have an idea of who you would like to be on a team with, it is advised to enter the trivia hall early to organize your table.
2.There will be a short meeting prior to the commencement of the trivia night (6:45 pm PDT) on the zoom call and in the trivia hall for participants and team captains to review the rules before game play. Details of the trivia event will be posted in the student booth and accessible any time before the event as well.
3. Teams will consist of at least THREE (3) and up to SIX (6) members. If you have a team, please designate a name (associated with your company, school, etc.) and decide internally on a team captain. For those competing in trivia who do not have a team make sure to arrive with enough time to be placed into a team.
4. Team captains will oversee answering questions and must download speedquizzing live on their smartphone. Each team captain will receive the confirmation code for the speedquizzing live app. The app is very easy to use but it is recommended that team captains see the speedquizzing live user tips
5. Once teams are sorted, each captain will be given a 4 digit trivia code to enter into the speedquizzing app on their smartphone along with their team name.
6. Teams will not be allowed to shuffle members or substitute players once the game has started.
7. Guests will also have access to a live stream https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4E3FLLNHoRgD0NuwB3OfiA/featured of the questions and be able to video chat with teammates. In case issues occur with zoom, if a team has the livestream up they should be able to answer and keep track of questions.
8.GRC Board Members and student committee members who were involved in the planning, preparation, or presentation of questions for the GRC Trivia Night are NOT allowed to sit on a competing team.
